i've wanted to capture swallows in flight for a long time, just to prove to myself i could do it. well, through a combination of luck, timing, and excellent optics - oh, and did i mention luck? - i managed to capture this pair engaging in their springtime aerobatic antics....

after that one, this shot of a swallow yawning seems a bit anticlimactic, but i liked the pose anyway! :G

Nice job Rocky, those tree swallows are plucky little fellows all full of oops and vinegar. I was lucky enough myself this winter to have a couple of these guys square off right in front of my lens. Even so, it's not easy capturing their areobactic antics. I can certainly appreciate what you must have gone through. Your efforts certainly paid off though.

Well done,
Steve

thanks for all the wonderful comments... this is a shot i've tried to get many times without success. it's very gratifying to be able to actually capture the aerial ballet these birds perform...

Good job, squirl. I know the trial and error it takes for those shots!
