A family of Howling Monkeys passed by our hotel in Papagayo (Costa Rica), using the tree tops to move on.

It was around 4:30pm, and they were moving fast, so VR was a real helper here !!

#1, the pack leader

#2, a female

#3, the same girl

#4, the boss again.

You did a very good job getting them in focus through all of that foliage. That last shot is an especially nice one.

Thanks for the comment Smac.

Yes, quite a job running below the trees following these guys, with the sun in my eyes and them being so dark. But the lens was quick to focus, and the VR made possible all of thesehandheld shots.

The Boss monkey was always watching below and telling the others when to move on. He would show the way and then stay behind until all the others got to the following tree.

On one of the trees, they were atacked by a couple of birds, probably guarding their nest.

Been around that area, Playa Hermosa, 4 times now. Excellent photo ops all over.

Oh yes, that Playa Hermosa is about 3 km south of the Papagayo Gulf where I was staying. Beautiful beaches, not crowed, and hardly any mosquitoes, and surrounded bytropical dry forest.

I was gonnago dolphing spoting on Thursday, but had to change plans. Maybe another time.
