All taken with the Nikkor 300mm from the bow of my boat on a Gitzo CF tripod. These ducks are skiddish if you move up too fast on them, if you troll up very slowly you have a chance.



This one is already posted... but belongs in this thread.

Awesome bufflehead shots. They are really tough to shoot because they are small and skittish. These are great action shots. Love the lighting. Nice work man!

Royce, thank you as well! You hit the nail on the head my friend, as much as I love doing the portrait type shots of animals/birds, they are far less of a challenge to photograph. It's also not that simple to expose these black and white birds correctly, same with Loons. I throw away alot of pictures, thats for sure. :-)
