I was walking through my favorite woods when I came across this female wood duck under a canopy of leafless trees. She was much too busy rooting through the leaves to take notice of me and I was able to close to within about 20 feet of her to take photos. I didn't press any closer and she wasn't alarmed.

Here's a landscape view of her.
