I have not found one of these birds yet that will give me thepose I want. I don't see that many, so I try to get a shot before they disappear. They are pretty shy...at least the ones I see.

beautiful bird, but what i really like is the overall framing and composition of this photo. it really takes it to the next level.

Thanks, matthew. The colors worked pretty good together....all I needed was for it to settle in the open a little more.

Hung, I appreciate the comments on theframing and composition. This has been a challenging bird to get. Tomorrow, I may have them lined up for portraits?

I appreciate the comment, Don. This is a beautiful bird, but I guess not very popular with a lot of people. Not the case in these parts.
