I've always admired these animals...I wonder if they have frequent headaches:lol: I sure would. These guys are fast and small. My best "in-flight" pics are to bad to post. Maybe someday.

Good shoot, woodpeckers don't usually fly straight, they sort of dip as they fly, which makes them a project for in flight shots.

Sorry, no idea about the species....It's found in the SoCal mountains. This one was at 7400 feet, last week. (They seems to be around at that elevation all year)

Maybe somebody can offer an ID.
