For weeks I have been watching a great blue heron fly over my yard twice a day, going out in the morning about 7:00am and coming back about 6:00pm, regular as the most routine bound commuter. I suspected I might know where he was going to fish, but this morning was the first time I had the time to check it out. Sure enough, I found him, along with friends, in the tailwaters of a dam.

Both shots taken with Pentax K10D with Tamron 70-300 at 220mm. ISO 800, f 5.6, 1/350th sec, EV +0.5
