Both are beautiful shots and pictures of bats are unusual to see. Is that a big brown bat? Captive or wild?

They are nice shots. The bat is not your typical nocturnal insect eating bat - it is a fruit bat. Because of their fox-like heads, they are sometimes called "flying foxes" If you have ever seen "The Bridge On The River Kwai" you have seen the sky full of them as they were scared out of the trees. As these are not native to the Americas (and assuming these were taken in Oregon ot thereabouts) and so must have been taken in a zoo. Same for the parrot.
