What happens when you mix a pondful of Japanese koi, a pair of hungry mallards, and a little girl with a bag of fish food from the gift shop?

After a vigorous wing-flap doesn't do the trick, Ma retreats to the corner of the pond to wait for another visitor.

I was looking over the shots my wife took, and she had a wider shot that got the true dimensions of the battle.

Boy, those koi sure are colorful!

Coach, are these shots from your K10 or S6000? I've noticed that sometimes your photos are pretty sharp, and others are soft and/or blotchy... is that from distant shots being cropped?

The first three shots are from the K10 and the fourth from the s6000. Probably the softness is from too aggressive cropping.
