The socks were twisting and swinging in the wind, the birds were squabbling and fluttering, the llight was lousy, the ISO was high, the pictures are overproccessed --all the reasons in the world not to use a picture, but what the hey . . . . the subject was fun.

looks like those birds had a fun time. what type of birds were they? i see a male house finch. how about the yellow ones?

The yellow ones are goldfinches. The top one is a male American Goldfinch, the one on the bottom right a male Lesser Goldfinch, and the one on the left is a female goldfinch (don't know which - they look quite a bit alike).
