Just a few shots of a beautiful wedge-tail eagle that I saw yesterday. He was very photogenic. taken with a 70-200 F4 L and 1X4 TC

I have got shots out near the farms in my area but the closest Ive got to one in the wild is about is about 30 metres, too far for really sharp shots with my lens (although Im hoping to get a 400 5.6 L lens soon) this is not at a zoo. This was at whiteman park wildlife sanctuary in western Australia. birds get brought in if they are hit by cars or injured by idiot humans.

This eagle was taken from the nest to be kept as a ‘pet', but it is illegal to take wildlife from its natural environment. In November 2006 the bird was sent to the Western Australian Birds of Prey Centre to be further assessed and cared for. They get to fly free there and there are also wild eagles nesting in the area.
