Well I decided to make the switch to Canon from Pentax. These are my first shots with the 30d and a 300L IS f/4.......cheers.......Don

Osprey flying by. The light was lousy as usual up here. Nice white sky. I was shooting small birds in a bush with ISO at 1600 as it was quite dark. No time to change settings as this Osprey flew by. Just lifted the camera tracked it and pressed the shutter.

first time I've gotten this close to a Kingfisher. I was on my knees shooting between branches. Boy these guys are tough to catch...

Thanks Jake. I hope so. Seems nice so far. Like the fast AF and tracking. Lower noise at high ISO which I have to use a lot in this climate...cheers...Don

hey, Don, looks like the 30D agrees with you! white sky or not, that osprey shot is perfectly exposed, and the others are pretty darn good too! you've obviously managed to get some nice close locations... that chickadee looks close enough to reach out an' touch! nicely done!

PS - i know what you mean about the kingfishers!

Nice pix, especially the Wood Duck.

So what do you think. Do you like the picture quality..operation of the new system better than Pentax?

What kind of Pentax did you use ?

You got off to a good start with the 30D, Don. You seem to like it so far and will just get better :-)

Canon is my dream set; a pity that I am using the Nikon which are also good enough. You have a great lensto begin with, too. Pose moreup hereand tell us how you feel about the difference between Pentax and Canon from a user point of view.
