All taken with canon 30D and 70-200 F 4 L (non IS)& 1X4 TC handheld. Really the reach is not enough. The ricknecks and magpie in flight were at 200 with no TC and shot from the car window. I'm just waiting on a 400 5.6 L prime lens that is on its way in the mail. cant wait to have the extra focal length.

Nice pictures.....Australia does have some 'unique' looking birds and for that matter, animals.

great shots considering the difficult shooting conditions. autofocus can often catch a branch instead of the bird when i am shooting under the cover of trees. these came out fantastic. i especially like the 3rd shot of the full wing spread on the magpie. oh and that last shot. even though it might be just a common seagull, i still think it was captured beautifully! :G

have fun with your 400mm f5.6. can't wait to see your pics!!!

Very nice colors on these. I like theclean white of the Gull against a beautiful blue sky and a few wispy clouds. Nice job!
