I haven't had much time to devot to these birds this season and this is the best I have so far. The first one was in harsh light so got blown some.

This one was in the process of breaking dead branches from a tree for nest material and stopped to watch me for a minute

Wow, I have never seen a cattle egret around here. The plumage is gorgeous. Nice shots in that harsh light. I somehow missed this post the first time too. I'm really glad I caught it this time around.

Steve, I think thesightings out your way create a flurry to see it. These birds are in large flocks around here. They are colorful in the spring though. They will be heading south before long.
