I took these shots yesterday and at first I thought from the distance I was at that it was a sex romp but I'm pretty sure it was a bunch of males having a disagreement.

Not the greatest shots due to low light but a look at bird behaviour.


Here they meet up and the stare down starts




using their chests to push each other around



three onto one





The unfortunate one on the bottom gets put in his place




They continue to force him down and peck him

Seriously amazing behavior shots, Julie, I've never seen such a thing before, really great stuff! I can't believe what I'm seeing. Looks like "bully" ducks to me :?

Lucky the one on the bottom got away pretty much soon after the last shot, I guess he realised he was now on the bottom of the pecking order so to speak
