Not the most exotic bird, in fact their pretty darn common, but they have great color.
These Mallards were the only thing happining this weekend at the refuge. Tons of ducks and the Snows are starting to show up in numbers too, but they all kept their distance.
So, Mallards it is....:-)

Seems as if Mallards fall into the category of Pigeons, when it comes to numbers and being common. I still take photos of them anyway because they are beautiful birds.

Nice job on these Steve.

you have got to hand it to the mallard, they have the most stunning colors and you have captured these really well

These are some really fine showings of the mallard, especially that first one, one of the nicest I've seen in awhile. Everything simply fits and works in that shot.
