Nice eye contact shots! Not familiar with the duck in frame one... my best guess is a Black Bellied Whistling Duck?

Could be, yeah. It looks different from my guide with the non-breeding plummage.

There were quite a few standing on a railing at the Aransas Wildlife Refuge.
