I shot these today using the Mark III and 300/4 IS handheld from my SUV. All were shot at ISO 1600 with no post processing on the background. Shots were resized for the web and some selective sharpening was applied in some areas. No increase in saturation or other.

My SUV in the magpie's eye. Yes, actually some blue sunset sky, a nice change

A snowflake and a chickadee

This shot was a mistake, one of those times when the twig gets in the way, but I really appreciated the way the "mistake" came out.

My last shot with the whole bird, these chickadees have a much healthier appearance in winter because they "fluff" in order to dawn their winter warmth  Too bad we couldn't do the same, fluff our skin.

Nice shooting Norm, and interesting perspectives. I don't know about you, but my skin seems to fluff up about 10lbs worth after Christmas. :G.....cheers...Don

Very nice Norm. Great detail, as usual.

Excellent shots Norm. I'm really liking the Chickadee and snowflake.

Very funny Don, according to my wife and the newhole in my belt I alsoshare this adaptive"fluff up" feature. :-)
