My last batch of shots from 2007.

1) Northern Shoveler

2)

3)

4) Black Necked Stilt

5)

6) Wish I didn't clip the legs and tail but whaddya gonna do. Heheh.

7) Kingfisher. I noticed a small bird hovering in the distance. Just as I swung my lens up, it dove. Heavy crop, but I got something at least. A first for me .

8 ) I was walking along the gravel path next to a mud flat. There were the usual sand pipers, but I noticed a couple that were darker than the others. Crouching down by the waterline, I snapped a pic. It turned out to be a Ruddy Turnstone. Another first for me.

9)

10 ) Snowy Egret flying over. Kind of a weird angle, but I like it. Those eyes remind me of a bittern. This was shot full frame.

11 ) Black Bellied Plover. Thanks Penolta! Looks like the little fellah caught a crab for breakfast.

12) Northern Pintail

It's been a great year for bird/nature photography. I've had alot of fun participating in this wildlife forum. I'm looking forward to see what 2008 will bring. Happy New Years everybody and I'll see you guys on the other side.

- Hung

WOW!! You really outdid yourself this time, Hung! I love 'em all! Really awesome pics! Andthe BN Stilt is beautiful! As to the mystery shorebird, I'm not sure, but it might be a semipalmated sandpiper. Hard to tell without seeing its breast. Great work! Happy New Year as well. Dan

Like looking at a fireworks display and each following picture out does the previous picture. They are great, especially the second last, unidentified bird. Wow.

I think that white UFO looks like some sort of smaller Eget or Heron, but I'm no expert.

11 ) Not sure what kind of shorebird this is. It caught a little bug on the marsh flats. ID appreciated (*cough* Penolta...)
Nice work on this series, Hung. The mystery bird is a Black-bellied Plover - like so many, it seems misnamed in winter plumage. The "bug" is a little salt marsh crab - can't really tell which one - maybe Hemigrapsis (no common name) or a female Fiddler Crab (the male has a large claw).

Keep 'em coming - there are still some you haven't gotten yet - but this is the time of year to get them.
