Im now taking care of my 90yr old father in the house hes been at for over 50 yrs. To try to keep things interesting for him..I thought he might like to start watching for any birds that might drop by his yard close to his windows. He could have cared less. Me & my big ideas...I ...was the one infor a overload. In just one day...I saw Goldfinch, wren, starlings, cardinals, bluejays, sparrows, finches, Junco, nutthatch, Downey & Red Breasted woodpeckers and titmouse. They are hunted by kestrels and something elsemuch bigger...i think it may a Ferruginous Hawk. Those are just the one I could finda proper name for. So of all the chances Ive had to get photos..the starlings..those ugly bickeringdark birdsgave me somethng I would like to share.

Great pictures. I'm also not a fan of Starlings. They come up here in the Spring..but then so does a Merlin and when it flies over their flocks...thy almost fly into each other, in their haste to get away.

That first shot is amazing. Too bad it had to be starlings. I place them in the same category as cockroaches and rats. Vermin to be gotten rid of.

I really like your first photo. I think starlings are a cool bird. Colourful - depending on the time of year and with a wide range ofvocalizations. Thanks for sharing. Dan
