Great shot of a beautiful bird. Supposedly, we have wood ducks on some of the local area lakes, but I've never seen one in the wild. I love their colors, and you've captured them well. I particularly like the feather texture in your shot.

You nailed him Don! Well done for what looks like an overcast day, judging from the water. Still no sun out there? Cheers, Dan

Nice shot Don, they have been gone from here since late September, some of the first ducks to leave each year.

Thanks very much Trojansoc, Dan, Kent and Tom. It was nice to have a semi dry day.

Dan, I don't know what you're talking about. What is this thing people refer to as "sun"? :G No, it was another dull gray day. I had to run for cover at one point as a hail storm hit. That's when I'd had enough and headed for home....

Tom, this has to be the easiest place maybe on earth to photo a Wood Duck. They love it here, as people frequent the area and feed them all year round. These Wood Ducks never leave...perfect place for a lazy bird...cheers...Don
