Isn't that how a mink kills - by biting off the head? aranoid: Seems like I remember reading that somewhere.

Thanks guys, and sorry about the gore.

I'm not real sure what Minks do with a catch, but like most wildlife, they probably go for the head first. He or she might have been lunching on this fellow for a bit, and had had enough and wanted to hide it for a late night snack....cheers...Don

GREAT captures, Don !! Worth getting "cabin fever" and going out, regardless of blue sky or not

Thanks Jake, Hung, Tsiya and Leung. Your comments as always are much appreciated.

I guess Minks will chow down on pretty well anything they can catch. I've heard that the Minks in this area will even take a Canada Goose, which is a good sight larger than a Mallard....cheers...Don

Great job catching the action. Good luck for you and the mink - bad luck for the duck! Excellent series.

A mink is a large weasel and they are fearless hunters that will attack almost anything if they think it looks like food. Nice shots even though you seem to have the same light I do here right now.

Looks like your Canon is working out great for you!
