spotted two of these guys up in some old dead snags on Sunday. i was out with the 100-400L to test it for backfocusing (which is now confirmed), so these aren't as clear and sharp as they'd be with my Sigma, but with flickers, one takes what one can get... they don't show up all that often around here!

#1 - makin' chips fly!

#2 - soakin' up the rays...

Nice shots Rocky. These Flickers are tough in our area, but lately, I've noticed them being a little more docile than they normally are. I saw another one today fighting off Morpheus. Must be a Winter time thing...cheers...Don

Great capture in the last shot, from a bit different angle that photograph would have been a mold breaker, I suspect. Super color saturation and very cool timber surrounding.
