not sure quite what this little guy is... looks a bit like a chipping sparrow, but the coloring is a bit off. it's 29 degrees outside at noon, so he's all fluffed up... anyway, i came home for lunch and heard a commotion in the thicket behind my back yard, so out i went with the 40D and Sigma. this little fella was sitting back in the brambles, singing his head off (along with a dozen or so of his mates whom i mostly couldn't see), so i snapped a few photos just for fun. it's good practice, too, picking little brown birds out of dead, brown bushes...

Looks like you have a House Sparrow there. Sure glad I haven't had any of those in my yard.
