Would that bird eat a squirrel already dead? The reason I ask is because the tail looks like it is in rigor and that means the squirrel was dead for some time before the bird grabbed it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

The squirrel was still alive when I started shooting, as the tail was waving around quit a bit. It didn't take long before the squirrel stopped moving. There was also another Hawk close by waiting for any leftovers.
