Jicarilla Wild Horses

My wife and I went out to see if we could find some of the Jicarilla Wild Horses. We did find a small herd but they were to far away and not enough time to try and get in closer. Snow flurries and very overcast.

I went back the next day, earlier in the day so I would have more time if I needed it. I found two herds this time. They are on 76,000 acres of National Forest land so it takes a lot of moving and glassing to find them.

These horses are having a difficult time this year there is ice and frozen ground under the snow and they are having to work real hard for food.

If you are interested in more information about these Wild Horses here is a link.

Looks like things are getting better for these guys & gals the South Facing slopes are melting real good so now it will be easier for them to get food.
