One of my goals this year was to expand my photography skills into the world of macro photography. Shooting birds is fun, but I need to try something different. With the upcoming spring, I decided to purchase a dedicated macro lens. There is a $90 rebate currently on the Tamron 90mm f2.8 DI lens so I went for it.

So far macro photography is proving to be quite different from shooting birds. It requires alot more thought to composition, light, and dof. I know I wanted to shoot handheld with available light instead of relying upon tripods and complicated flash systems. Anyways enough with the rambling, here are some of my recent shots. C&C always appreciated.

1) Barnacles from the local tidepools

2) Sea Anemone

3) Tiny little fly (approx 3mm in length)

4) Daisy

5) After the rain

7) Hairy three leaf clovers

8 )

9) Ruffage

10 )

Thanks for looking and commenting.
