Looks like the Tree Swallows are back and are trying to settle into their nest boxes. I spent yesterday morning watching them flit about the air having fun. When I got home and reviewed my shots, it looked like there was alot of fighting going on.

4) Looks like this poor guy is getting a beakful from the wifey!

"Where have you been? Do you have any idea what time it is?! The kids are starving! Nag Nag Nag Nag...."

5) Tried to get some bif shots of them. Definitely an act in frustration.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Lots of details and action. Must be hand-held again this time.

Awesome Hung!!!! Just to get a shot of one of these flying is a super achievement!. I've seen some swallows up here in the last week or 2, but none at my local haunt yet. Shouldn't be too long...cheers....Don

thanks guys!

bob - they are also very erratic in their flight path which makes for getting the right focus a challenge.

tom - i never realized they were so combative. i guess mating season does that to birds!

peter - i always shoot handheld.

don - they will be in your neighborhood in strong numbers soon. you better start stretching out your arms and shoulders because they will give you quite a work out when trying to shoot them.

best regards all.

killer shots, Hung... i've managed to capture them in flight a couple of times, but never as clear and sharp as yours. great detail and clarity... well done! i especially like #1 and 4... the latter reminds me of a series of 3 i did last year along the same theme!

thank you kent and rocky. the nest box is standing in front of a pond. when i shoot level with the top of the nest box, there is nothing behind the birds, thus the background is totally out of focus. this gives the look of clarity and makes the images appear sharper.

Great shots, Hung - the first three in particular are superb. Are there other nest boxes nearby? Looks llike they may be squabbling over whose house it is (those condos all look alike)!
