I've been in the market for a new lens, and finally bought the Canon EF 400mm F5.6L. Here is not only my obligatory duck shot, but a couple more too. The duck and heron shots arestraight from the camera, just re-sized. The osprey shot is a very heavy crop. No alterations have been done.

This lens is going to take some getting used to. It is lightning fast on the focus which actually cause me to miss a shot or two. While in servo mode trying to stay on the bird in flight, I drifted for a split second and the lens would refocus and I missed the shot. I will have to improve my technique just to keep up. lol

congrats on the new lens. looks like you are off to a great beginning! i played with your gbh shot. hope you don't mind. it's an incredibly sharp shot even when viewed at 100% crop. i just cropped it tighter and adjusted the level for more contrast.

best regards,

- hung

Thanks Hung,

ofcourse I don't mind. You know thats the first thing I did was start adjusting all the levels. I know you said how fast this lens was but man, that was an understatement! lol:lol:
