hi all... been a while since i've checked in ... came down with the flu or some such thing last week, which rather knocked me for a loop, and the weather's been horrid, so i haven't gotten out much. it snowed yesterday, but today the sun came out so i went to the park. pretty quiet... no, let's be honest, it was dead! i did manage one respectable shot of a kingfisher, though she was quite far off, so this is cropped pretty heavily... 40D, 100-400L @ 400mm, 1/2000 @ f/8....

Flu was terrible lately in Hong Kong killing a few kids. Primary classes were suspended for about a week to prevent kids from cross infection. Seeing the BIF shots here, I have confidence to believe that you have knocked the virus down. BIFs for kingfishers are partly the result of luck and partly the results of constant practice. This one here againstthe skyis even harder to shoot. Awesome.

Nicely done Rocky! You were close enough to get some detail on these skittish little buggers. I've seen them doing the "hover" once in a while too, but at a long distance away.....Great stuff.....cheers....Don
