Hi,

I saw these magpies today and I think they are really breeding (or at least it looks that way) in the city centre:

#5 -I think this might be the nest, haven't seen them to use it, but they were always on the same or a nearby tree. Can someone tell me if this might be a magpie nest?

It may well be, but it could be incomplete - can't quite tell from the photo. Magpies are supposed to build a covered nest of twigs lined with mud, that they enter through holes in the side, so it would be sizeable. I have never seen one myself.

At least in Oregon, Magpie nests look just like the one in the photo. I have several on my property every year.
