You never know where you'll find a shot. I was driving through an old cemetery in my home town, looking for another type of photo, when I saw this fellow hammering away on the ground directly in front of me. I was excited because the closest I had ever gotten to shoot a Northern Flicker before was a ridiculous distance that resulted in a barely recognizable mess.

My presence was NOT going to spoil his search for lunch.

While making a Mother's Day weekend visit, a pushy Blue Jay (is there any other kind?) decided to make his way into our conversation
