Another great photo, Dan -- these guys are hard on the dragonfly population! The band here is closer to the expected pale yellowish-brown than the brilliant white in the first shot. My old major professor used to say that he would never accept a sight record "unless it was made along the barrel of a shotgun," because observers' impressions and descriptions varied so much. The tendency nowadays is to accept photographs in lieu of specimens, but this seemingly minor difference betweenthese twoshots illustrates how digital processing has made it possible for those shades of interpretation to creep in again.
