I just got back from a visit with my son and his wife in Hawaii. Great trip, even if my bird shooting was severely curtailed by a car break-in in which I lost the only long lens I took on the trip. However, 135mm was quite sufficient to capture the fun when a neighbor was cutting an old garden plot with a weedeater. Cattle egrets answered the call from far and near

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"The egrets were drawn by the newly cut area making hunting bugs easy. At times there were as many as 12-15, leading to some amusing squabbles over rights to choice areas.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"By the time the cutting was done, every egret had his fill, and the birds retreated to the nearby Ko'ola Mountains to await the next great event, when my son mows his lawn later in the week, lol.

Great captures - the greater DOFallowewd bythe shorter lens stood you in good stead with these sharp action shots.
