Nice shots!

There here in Oregon but allways facing the ocean. One needs aboat to get a shot or access to one of the rocks off shore.

Got these shots while fishing in Resurrection Bay... I've never seen puffinsfrom shore.. There are several areas with rookeries..they nest in tall rocky cliffs. They are shy, when the boat gets close, they take off or dive. Its difficult to get a decent photo (for me)..the bird is moving, the boat is rocking...the zoom is too short...

Correct for the first three, but the last one in this thread is a Tufted Puffin.

I know...I was only showing what the majority of my photos look like--puffin butt!... Thank you for the correction--I was surprised my other puffin post went 2-3 days without being corrected..

I think the horned look "tufted".. like a quilt... Its going to be a mistake I keep making I'm afraid..

I know now that the horns are the black marks by thier eyes..

I'm fairly new to these birds, and birding in general, so I welcome any and all corrections, suggestions, etc.
