Hi All, here are some shots I've taken over the past few weeks with my Nikon D60 and the 70-300mm lens:

Great Blue Heron:

The endangered Piping Plover:

Atlantic Puffin:

Stilt Sandpipers (with one Yellowlegs, and another one - the out of focus bird in the foreground):

Common Tern:

Thanks Dan! The Terns were bringing back fish for their chicks which were pretty big at this point, but didn't seem to be flying yet. The Terns and the Piping Plovers were taken at a crowded beach in Queens, NY. There is an area between the houses and the beach that is roped off for the terns, skimmers, and plovers. The humans have to walk through on paths that go through it. Its ok for the terns and skimmers but I don't think it is good for the plovers as they need to walk along the beach to find food. The plovers are endangered and it seems to be in evidence there as we only saw three of them on their breeding grounds there. I really don't know how they can find enough food to feed themselves and their chicks as they spend so much of their time trying to steer clear of all the people around.
