Waxwing shot through a number of branches



A youngish Spotted Towhee...



and a Tree Frog.

I like all the pictures. Very clear, nicely exposed, excellent background that does not take away from the subject, but enhances.

I would be interested to know what equipment you used, time of the day, the pictures were taken as the lighting really has quite a positive effect on the picture.

Like thewater duck shots. The gloss of the water surface and the details ofthe plumage are appealing. Peter

great stuff, Don... yeah, the whitesky sucks, but you got the grosbeaks to come out as something other than silhouettes - nice job processing those! and the waxwing is terrific! i love those little guys... we had some here early this summer, but they've pretty much moved on now... :sad:

The Wood Ducks were with with a Pentax k100d with the 55-300DA lens. The remaining were with the Pentax k20d with the DA*300f4 lens....cheers...Don

Yeah, you're right about those white skies...but I guess we're going to be getting a lot of them from here on in. You're right about the Grosbeaks, but I did EV comp to the max so not too much processing was needed. The waxwings are still around here. Tons of them really. Hard to shoot though. I imagine they'll be moving on shortly...cheers....Don
