Yesterday afternoon, I went out late in the afternoon and was struck as I drove down my rural road by the unusual sight of a dozen turkey vultures sunning themselves on a power distribution tower.

The group appeared to be all turkey vultures, although I'm not sure whether a couple of them are immature turkey vultures, or black vultures. Another dozen or so were in nearby trees, including this black vulture.

At the fish hatchery where I often go to shoot was a large gaggle of Canada Geese. I got a couple of decent flight shots.

Meanwhile, nearby a group of killdeers were splashing around the edge of apond that is in the process of being drained.

LOL....if so, it's a statement on the death of hydroelectric power since those lines are part of the distribution complex from a hydroelectric plant
