I was on my way back this morning from a fairly disappointing morning at the fish hatchery where I normally shoot when I spied a red-tailed hawk sitting in a tree along the road. As I got the car stopped and jumped out, he dived unsuccessfully for something in the grass, then flew up and across the road, giving me a chance for a couple of quick shots.

Out at the fish hatchery, the only interesting shot with which I came home was a black vulture coming in for a landing. For those more familiar with the turkey vulture, these birds are smaller and feature white tips on black wings.
