These pictures were taking during the same photo trip to the refuge. The only difference is that the sun decided to come out and stay. Yeh!

Coming back to the refuge to escape the hunters and rest up. It was the last day of hunting for the season. Which means that the geese will not be nearly as concentrated on the refuge. They will spread out into the rice fields of the Sacramento Valley and feed.
