For the first time this weekend, we had a pair of northern flickers in our front yard. The first shot, from yesterday, is a heavy crop because I couldn't get too close, but I liked the fact the shot showed the yellow undercoloring.

Today, I was able to get closer, and got some shots of the female

All shots with the Pentax K20d and the Sigma 50-500.

I agree - the yellow feathers are a nice capture! Thanks for posting.
