Wow!! every time I get on this forum everyones' pictures are better and better!!!! Definitely gives me incentive to do better. Sunday I got out specifically for owls. I was hoping for a 4 or 5 owl day but, unfortunately 2 owls didn't show. But, 2 in one day is okay with me!! Also, other critters were out and about too. dennis

1.An American coot. One of four cruising for a meal.

2.This little guy was found by a friend as we were leaving one session with an owl. He stuffed hmself in a very shallow hole and at one point almost fell out backwards.

3. This little one would have been the 2nd owl but, the first was a no-show.

4. The last owl of the day. This one was fairly difficult as we were on an icy slope while shooting and all the branches were a pain.

Nice series, Dennis. I love the sleepy little Screech Owl - that red phase occurs only in the Eastern Screech Owl, not in the Western one - ours are more monotonous. The little bandit in the tree hole is s sketch.

All very nice, but I most enjoyed the raccoon in the tree.
