This is a Berthelot's Pipit that I came across while wandering about on Tenerife. I saw it in the grass from a distance but I couldn't make out what was hanging from its mouth until I got close enough to snap shots. Looks like it was well on its way to collecting bits for the nest.

3. After all that hard work of nest building, it came back and treated itself to a snack.
