Default red-breasted sapsucker

spotted this little fellow at the park, industriously searching for bugs. sapsuckers don't really suck the sap, they drill holes in the tree bark and then come back to harvest insects that get stuck in the sticky stuff. this one would come back, check his trees, then leave, but he returned every 5-10 minutes to see if any bugs had got stuck... 40D, 400mm, 1/500 @ f/6.3
