Default mix from two new lenses

I just upgraded my F4 L to the IS version and purchased a 100-400 L IS. As I have not posted in a while I thought Id post some shots

These first two are from the F4 IS

The rest are from the 100-400 L IS

Very nice. The last one looks like a greeting card.

Congratulations on the lenses.

Lovely images, Julie - Sharp as a tack, nice compositions, and the exposures are handled well (the pelican shot is great, just "borrow" a wing tip from another image of you took one)

thanks guys, I had the 400 F5.6 L prime but as great as the images were I found it restrictive in some areas so after much reading and pondering I took the chance on the 100-400 L IS and I guess I got a good one as its pretty close in image quality. The F4 IS I purchased because I sold my F2.8 non IS and wanted something with the same focal range that could still shoot in lowish light.

I loved the 70-200 F2.8 but as I use this focal length the most I wanted something lighter.

nice images all around. very fond of #2, great sharpness and a nice midflight capture with a good background.

#3 is a nice intimate capture too, the subtle reflections and ripples in the water add to that one.

as mentioned, the last 1 looks like a christmas card almost. though i think you could bump the contrast n saturation a lil and maybe get it a tad sharper.

good set, enjoyed them.
