Default frog legs, anyone?

while i was at the park this afternoon i saw this great blue heron struggling to swallow a huge bullfrog. the action was too far away for a good shot - about 80 yards - and the heron was facing the wrong way, but i did manage to catch a couple of shots. this is one of the best... 40D, 400mm, 1/320 @ f/8.

Ok, I'll bite. I'm envious of you for this wonderful opportunity, and I'm envious of the Heron for those delicious legs. A real twofer...

That's a great capture Rocky. What a mouthful! Holy moly, it looks like his eyes are going to pop out.

thanks, guys... i've seen herons swallow some amazingly large prey... never ceases to amaze me. and considering the size of their bodies, their digestive system must pretty much be just a stomach and a straight pipe!
