Default Chickadee

I like these little guys. This one had found a sunflower seed, and appeared quite happy about it....Don

That's a beautiful shot, Don. It's difficult just to catch these guys in one place for more than a millisecond.

Spectacular shot and with a seed too. How lucky is that? Great detail and focus.

Got that right. There's flock of them that hang around my favorite marsh every Winter, and I often spend my time following them around. In five years, I think I have about five good shots. I'm tempted to use Audebons approach - Shoot em, stuff em, put em on a tree branch and take all the photographs I want...

We have a conservation area not far from where I live. There is a large circular trail through the woods lined with bird feeders. Chickadees land in your hand if you hold it out. And in the winter if you have a hat on and some seed on top of the hat the birds land and eat as you stand there or stroll casually along. Chipmunks walk right up to you looking for nuts. When you visit, taking sunflower seeds and peanuts is a must. Both shots are fuzzy because Im shooting my own hand with no support at all.
