Hey..where can I get a hat like that?? :P
Only kidding, my repair job came back from Melville this past Tuesday (Pretty quick) Seems to work fine, I'm seriously considering welding the foot of the 600 into the Wimberley's clamp!!!

I got mine in Yosemite, but I've seen them around elsewhere. Around $30. It's a Dorfman Pacific.

Use the Wimberly plate with the stop-pins. You can mount it by opening the clamp all the way, then you can check the mount before fully tightening by sliding it slightly to see if it hits both pins and slides smoothly -- it won't slide smoothly if you haven't gotten it into the clamp all the way. I don't use them, but I would if I had a 13 pound lens...

Excellent, Ron. Don't see too many hummers around here right now. Guess they have already headed south for the warmer weather!

Seems a bit early for them to be heading south... maybe they know something we don't? It has been a little cooler the last few days -- but not much.

Maybe there's a hummer convention in September that they want to attend
