Default Snowy Owl - Revised Post

I went looking for snowy owls earlier today by driving through farm country along empty snow covered fields. But it was the tip of hydro / phone posts that I was scanning for the presence of some anomalous whitish shape (a perched snowy owl). I finally found one after about an hour of driving, stepped out of the car and took a series of photos before it flew off, out of camera reach. This shot was the best of the lot. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Dan

Revised Jan 10, 2010 - I wasn't happy with the original photo I posted - I couldn't understand why the edges were blurred (as the photo looked fine on my PC and on PBASE). So I decided to produce another version of the same subject. Dan

For some reason the photo is not appearing... Sure would like to see it... Knowing your talent, it is surely a great photo!

Mole, please try again. I had to repost an improved version of the photo due to some degradation of the original during the upload to this forum. Cheers, Dan

Gorgeous Dan.
I have been shut out, photography wise, the last 3+ weeks. The dreaded "Sacramento Valley" fog has had us socked in with no sun and very little visibility. As a wise man once said. "This sucks!" I will live vicariously through your photos until the sun again shines. Keep em coming.

Thanks everyone. Snowy owls are a rare sight this far south, but when the mole population is weak up north they sometimes come down to our more southern latitudes. Cheers, Dan
