Default Carolina Chickadees in the Sun

Had a brief bit of winter sunshine yesterday, between the storms, and time to try out my new (used) A*300 lens at the feeder. Our Carolina Chickadees were frisky as usual, but not too frisky for some photos:

Hoping for more sunshine soon, but expecting more ice & snow to enjoy instead. Hope your birding days are bright!

Cold weather always makes the little guys plump up - really increases the cuteness factor! No 3 is especially nicely posed - stands out well against the background.

Gary - Glad you enjoyed it! I've been really pleased with most of the results with my new/old 300mm lens - especially in bright light.

Penolta - So true! They've been especially cute (& cold) this winter!

Alady40 - They sure are cute little birds - just usually too fast for me... Thanks!

Wow, these Carolina Chickadees are fantastic... I like the colour of the bird in the first picture, I like the sort of "pose" or just your good way of composing these birds... I am not into birds per se... but looking at your pictures really has me stopping and taking a good look. Again, my son passed by the computer, he stopped too, just to admire the birds... Really fantastic work! But it is so jok'n cold here in Finland that I think the birds are laying low.

Thanks for sharing these photos. All the best.

Ned
